The only 2 major choices ...

I thought switching to Apple would solve my computing problems ... turned out just another choice

802.11n Wi-Fi standard finally approved

It took the IEEE 7 years to approve the new standard in wireless networking, and it is not a draft anymore.

Maybe this is why some countries don't have standards and don't even believe in standards; it is a time consuming process. It seems that the Americans, British, French, German, Japanese and ... don't care about time

Khalid Bin Al Waleed (Abu Suleiman)

This is what Khalid Bin Al Waleed (Abu Suleiman) has said before he died, and his statement was written on his tomb
I am just wondering what any Muslim Chief of Staff today would dare write on his tomb, let alone the rulers

An answer to an old question

I have always asked: why do we swing our arms and legs in opposite directions when we walk? I thought maybe to balance the body, but french researchers have recently offered an answer to this question. Click the title for details

What i do ....

This is what I do for living, I mean for dying ...

MS Vista ...

Using my Wi-Fi at KSU, I surf too fast; if I need a file, I would rather get it from the Internet, because my hard disk under MS Vista is a bit slower

I think it's time for microsoft to release Windows 10 ... (of course after 7, 8 and 9 but before I go for a Mac)

Funny ...

Steve Jobs: I bought a CRAY to help design the next Apple.

Seymour Cray: Funny, I am using an Apple to simulate the CRAY-3.

For those who are not familiar with names, Steve is the founder of Apple and Seymour is the founder of Cray and then most popular supercomputer Architect.

Speed Test

I am too busy to do anything, and have nothing to post, so this my UMTS Internet connection speed test, on the date and time shown

My dreams come true

Kindle from Amazon ....

Back in the year 1992, and while working on my Ph.D. at UAH, the idea of a technology replacing the hefty books came to miy mind, it was something like this little fellow with some era-specific difference; like wireless data connections, as it was not invented or even visioned at that time, and the missing things like colors and annotations and copy/patse functions ... which must be coming soon.

TURKEY ... thanks

Good Job Fadwa

Yesterday, Wednesday Dec. 24th, 2008, was one of my happy days; it was the birthday of my son Makeen who was born 1989 (He spent the whole night out, but I am sure I will see him the other day) and it was the day his cute mother got her Master Degree in Islamic Economy from Yarmouk University

Fadwa defended her thesis titled "Quality Management In the Islamic Banks". The panel had the following professors:

1. Dr. Imad Barakat, Chairman (Chairman, Department of Islamic Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
2. Dr. Reyad Al Momany, Co-chairman (Dean, College of Finance and Administration, International Islamic University, Amman - Jordan)
3. Dr. Sa'ed Al Hallaq, Member (Chairman, Department Of Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
4. Dr. Kamal Al Hattab, Member (Former Chairman, Department of Islamic Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
5. Dr. Najah Abu Al Fotooh, Member (Visiting Professor, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)

Taisir, Batool, Yazeed, Makeen, Aseel, Nuha, some friends, department professors and some Ph.D. candidates attended the defense

Shoezophrenia

A new severe psychiatric disorder has been reported by Shoemaker Jr., M.D. in the US. Not to be confused with the well known less sever disorder "Schizophrenia", this one so rare, and only presidents are prone to. Symptoms include seeing people hitting you by shoes wherever you go, even in countries you seem to consider safe havens.

New Weapon

The Pentagon is planning to launch a new military project with hefty funding to design and test Anti-Shoes Weapon System (ASWS)

Deadline is so tight, the weapon has to be ready for use before Bush steps down the oval office ...

Hajj

All praise be to Allah, I am back from Mecca after performing Hajj
It was not as hard as I thought; the modern arrangements made the 5 Millions look like only 500 Thousands.
