Faces ....
Look at the picture and try to locate the faces, how many do you see? normally, you can locate up 9 in seconds. If you find up to 11 then you are doing good and if you can find the 13 faces, then you have a good sense of seeing (some claim that seeing 11 means smart and 13 genious ... dont know what this has to do with that)

Software Research
Software is lagging and it takes a hardware firm to trigger it; Intel manycore products (up to 100 so far; breaking the TFLOPS performance barrier of a single chip) will push the software makers and the academia to explore ways of making use of huge number of cores on a chip and figure out new applications.

Brain Simulation
IBM Unveils Biggest Brain Simulator Yet
Scientists and engineers at IBM revealed yesterday that they have created the largest brain simulation on a supercomputer to date. The number of neurons and synapses in the simulation exceed those in a cat’s brain; previous simulations have reached only the level of mouse and rat brains. The cortical simulator, called C2, runs on Dawn, a Blue Gene/P supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

MS Vista ...
Using my Wi-Fi at KSU, I surf too fast; if I need a file, I would rather get it from the Internet, because my hard disk under MS Vista is a bit slower
I think it's time for microsoft to release Windows 10 ... (of course after 7, 8 and 9 but before I go for a Mac)

Funny ...
Steve Jobs: I bought a CRAY to help design the next Apple.
Seymour Cray: Funny, I am using an Apple to simulate the CRAY-3.
For those who are not familiar with names, Steve is the founder of Apple and Seymour is the founder of Cray and then most popular supercomputer Architect.

My dreams come true
Kindle from Amazon ....
Back in the year 1992, and while working on my Ph.D. at UAH, the idea of a technology replacing the hefty books came to miy mind, it was something like this little fellow with some era-specific difference; like wireless data connections, as it was not invented or even visioned at that time, and the missing things like colors and annotations and copy/patse functions ... which must be coming soon.
