MS Vista ...

Using my Wi-Fi at KSU, I surf too fast; if I need a file, I would rather get it from the Internet, because my hard disk under MS Vista is a bit slower

I think it's time for microsoft to release Windows 10 ... (of course after 7, 8 and 9 but before I go for a Mac)

Steve Jobs: I bought a CRAY to help design the next Apple.

Seymour Cray: Funny, I am using an Apple to simulate the CRAY-3.

For those who are not familiar with names, Steve is the founder of Apple and Seymour is the founder of Cray and then most popular supercomputer Architect.

Back in the year 1992, and while working on my Ph.D. at UAH, the idea of a technology replacing the hefty books came to miy mind, it was something like this little fellow with some era-specific difference; like wireless data connections, as it was not invented or even visioned at that time, and the missing things like colors and annotations and copy/patse functions ... which must be coming soon.

Good Job Fadwa

Yesterday, Wednesday Dec. 24th, 2008, was one of my happy days; it was the birthday of my son Makeen who was born 1989 (He spent the whole night out, but I am sure I will see him the other day) and it was the day his cute mother got her Master Degree in Islamic Economy from Yarmouk University

Fadwa defended her thesis titled "Quality Management In the Islamic Banks". The panel had the following professors:

1. Dr. Imad Barakat, Chairman (Chairman, Department of Islamic Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
2. Dr. Reyad Al Momany, Co-chairman (Dean, College of Finance and Administration, International Islamic University, Amman - Jordan)
3. Dr. Sa'ed Al Hallaq, Member (Chairman, Department Of Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
4. Dr. Kamal Al Hattab, Member (Former Chairman, Department of Islamic Economy, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)
5. Dr. Najah Abu Al Fotooh, Member (Visiting Professor, Yarmouk University, Irbid - Jordan)

Taisir, Batool, Yazeed, Makeen, Aseel, Nuha, some friends, department professors and some Ph.D. candidates attended the defense

Shoezophrenia

A new severe psychiatric disorder has been reported by Shoemaker Jr., M.D. in the US. Not to be confused with the well known less sever disorder "Schizophrenia", this one so rare, and only presidents are prone to. Symptoms include seeing people hitting you by shoes wherever you go, even in countries you seem to consider safe havens.

The Pentagon is planning to launch a new military project with hefty funding to design and test Anti-Shoes Weapon System (ASWS)

Musharaf: down & out

That's it .....Musharaf, who claims to be of Pakistan, is gone !!!
He received a "safe passage" to some country, thanks to USA, UK & KSA (as they care about Paksitan !!!!! they do care about others, too)
He had to leave because he does not belong to Pakistan. On Nov. 25th, 2007, I wrote something about Musharraf, and here is the link

Cameras (Click)

I like the technology when it is reasonable; a camera with face detection allows a novice to shoot (maybe another novice) with his face in the middle of the picture, while smile shutters allow shooting when people smile to the camera, no cheese no nothing.

I like that, but what if we live in a place where people don’t smile? Whether it is their nature, war, poverty or disaster! The earth is mostly of this kind of people, those who have one or more of those “blessings”
