Cannt hide it; I get happy with computer products getting rid of the power cable, which typically means two things: less intermingling wires and less power consumption hence greener life.
eSATA, the fastest connectivity today, will join the USB and FireWire in supporting external hard drives and others without a special power cable
However, we have to pray that this does not mean at all that the future devices will become powerless
